Our Approach
Our moderators use the Socratic method to create brave spaces for discussion and exploration so that the participants learn from each other while examining their own values and experiences. The arc of our programming provides the platform for participants to ponder the question, “How do I lead a fulfilling life?” We help them discover their own unique answers.
Texts, TED talks, art, and unique exercises provide the springboards for our deep dive discussions, resulting in individual reflections.
Our participants gain a deep understanding of themselves, so that they can lead from their hearts with compassion, integrity, and a clear moral compass.
We are committed to igniting intellectual inquiry and dialogue that probes each participant’s own values as well as those that underpin just societies.

Ewa Borowska
Ewa’s career spans over investment banking, fund management, consulting and teaching. She is an active investor. Prior to joining Christy and Jay Orris, Ewa founded a consulting firm advising institutions on leadership, governance, strategy, marketing, communications, transitions and finances. Before moving to Boulder, she was a senior member of the investment team for the Global and American Franchise strategies at Morgan Stanley in London. The team managed in excess of $10 billion in global long-only equity strategies. She joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 in its Investment Banking Division. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Ewa worked at JP Morgan in New York and London, Cambridge Associates in Boston, Linden Board of Education in Linden, New Jersey, and Shearman & Sterling in New York. She has served on a number of boards including Friends School in Boulder, Women’s Health in Boulder, as well as Board of Governors for the NewVic College in London.
Ewa started moderating seminars for Peak to Peak Leadership in 2018. She was drawn to the dialogue that explores values that make us most human: justice, equity, dignity, liberty and community. Because important decisions are not strictly economic or technical, but rather reflection of our values, it is important to understand where those values originate, how they are expressed and what impact they have on those around us. She was inspired by helping students of all ages to refine self-knowledge, perspective, and courage necessary to make leadership decisions that nourish rather than diminish our humanity.
Ewa holds an MBA from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA with honors in Comparative Literature from Yale University. She lives in Boulder with her husband and three kids.
Christy Orris
Co-Founder
Christy is an active investor and entrepreneur. She was the CEO of the ATEK Companies from 2001-2011 where she and her team grew it into one of the leading finished medical-device outsource suppliers in the world. ATEK Medical and its sister company, ATEK Plastics, were sold to KRG in 2011. Prior to joining ATEK, Christy was President of Regent Aviation, worked in operations at Baxter Healthcare and in brand management at General Mills. Christy has also served on a number of boards including: University of Colorado, Leed’s School of Business; Aspen Institute’s, Henry Crown Fellowship and Young Presidents Organization.
Christy and her husband, Jay, founded Peak to Peak Leadership after she completed the Henry Crown Fellowship at Aspen Institute. She was inspired by the Aspen Institute’s model laboratory of conversation using moderated, text-based discussions to frame the decisions leaders make in a broader context of competing values. Her fellowship provided a platform to explore purpose, values and issues that mattered to her and the society. Since 2011, she and Jay have been working with various institutions to create customized curricula that are tailored to each organization’s key leadership themes. The carefully selected texts help refine students’ analytical tools while challenging them to make more thoughtful humane decisions.
Christy received her MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth and BS at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She resides in Boulder, Colorado with her husband and two sons.
Jay Orris
Co-Founder
Jay Orris is a brand management and strategy professional. Until June 2009, he was Marketing Director at Healthy Food Holdings, a private-equity owned company. There he focused on the Van’s Frozen Foods as well as the acquisition and management of various yogurt brands. Prior to joining Healthy Food Holdings, Jay was a Marketing Director for WhiteWave Foods, responsible for the coffee creamer businesses. He arrived at WhiteWave when Horizon Organic was acquired by Dean Foods. While at Horizon Organic, he had responsibility for 11 dairy and non-dairy product lines. Prior to that, he spent five years working on several brands at General Mills in Minneapolis. Jay has served on a number of boards including YMCA of Boulder Valley and Boulder Country Day School.
Jay and his wife, Christy, founded Peak to Peak Leadership as result of his connection with the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Jay saw immense value in enabling students of all ages to explore, identify and discuss their core values while highlighting how those are brought to bear when making decisions. The methodology of creating a laboratory of ideas and experiences rather than lessons plans resonated with him. Since 2011, Jay has been leading seminars that are designed to foster deep conversations while wrestling with complexity and ambiguity. They provide students with tools to think about the world, a mirror in which they see their reflection and a platform to tackle the most pressing societal issues.
Jay received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and his BS in Biochemistry and Economics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. He lives in Boulder with his wife and their two sons.
